FAQ

Questions about NewsFlux

What we publish, how we verify, how we are funded, and what we will never do — answered plainly for Singapore and APAC readers.

Is NewsFlux a data/analytics flux tool or PR wire — can I pay to publish?

No. NewsFlux is an independent digital news publication. The name reflects the flow of the day's news — a rolling, always-on live desk — not flux in physics or chemistry, not a soldering flux brand, not a data-pipeline or query tool, and not React Flux architecture. The .pro domain is branding only.

We are not a PR distribution wire, not a marketing agency, and you cannot pay us to run a news article. Advertising and any sponsored content are clearly labelled and do not influence editorial decisions. If you represent a company, use the press/partnership subject on our contact form for legitimate media enquiries — not paid placement requests.

What does NewsFlux cover and how often do you publish?

We report on Singapore and wider APAC with desks for Singapore, business, technology, world and culture. The latest feed updates through the newsroom day with rolling coverage; flagship explainers and analysis pieces appear on the story page and index. Frequency follows the news — we do not pad the flow with recycled filler.

How do you verify stories and handle corrections?

Reporters cross-check claims against primary documents, official statements and multiple sources where possible. When we get something materially wrong, we correct promptly and note significant changes on the article. Use the correction request option on our contact form or email [email protected] with a link to the piece and the error.

What is the difference between news, analysis, opinion and sponsored content?

News reports what happened with attributed sourcing. Analysis explains context and implications — labelled on the page. Opinion reflects named authors' views, not the newsroom's institutional position. Sponsored or partner content is always marked and kept separate from editorial coverage.

How is NewsFlux funded? Does advertising influence coverage?

Revenue comes from display advertising and an optional reader membership (from S$8/month for the daily brief and ad-light reading). Funding supports operations; it does not buy favourable coverage. Editors do not know which members read which stories. Advertisers do not preview articles before publication.

How do I send a confidential story tip?

Use our contact form and select "News tip / story lead". Say if you need confidentiality. We protect sources where appropriate but cannot promise anonymity in every case — we will discuss options before you share sensitive material.

What does membership and the daily brief cost?

Optional membership starts from S$8/month (Singapore dollars), billed in SGD. It includes an early-morning daily brief email and reduced advertising on member pages. Membership is not required to read our core reporting.

How do you handle personal data under PDPA?

We comply with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012. Contact and tip forms require explicit consent. See our Privacy Policy for collection purposes, retention and your access rights. Privacy enquiries: [email protected].

What does NewsFlux not do?

We do not publish paid-for news articles, clickbait rumour, unverified gossip about named individuals, financial or medical advice, crypto or betting tips, or impersonate other outlets. We do not guarantee every tip becomes a story. Comment sections, where enabled, follow our acceptable use rules — no harassment, hate speech or spam.

NewsFlux is an independent digital news publication. We aim to report accurately, fairly and independently; to distinguish clearly between news, analysis, opinion and any sponsored content; and to correct significant errors promptly. Opinion and comment reflect the authors' own views. Nothing on this site is financial, legal, medical or investment advice.
